50-state Social Conversation Map
Map will load automatically when live data is available.
Blue shows the share of positive-language comments mentioning Democrats only; red shows the share mentioning Republicans only. Negative, mixed and neutral comments do not add to either color. These are rough keyword signals, not verified party approval, voting preferences or election predictions.
Scanning public YouTube conversations…Preparing 50-state scan
State colors appear as positive-language comments arrive. Small samples are preliminary.

State names are YouTube search topics, not verified commenter locations. The map first samples all states, then reuses discovered videos and attempts to cache results for 30 days in the visitor’s browser (where storage is allowed). This is not a shared website-wide cache. This coverage-first edition caps each browser at 50 video searches and 350 comment-page requests per UTC day. One initial 50-state scan may use about 5,000 search units plus comment-page units. These caps cannot enforce a project-wide quota across visitors. Saved video IDs are reused for seven days. Gray indicates no data, errors or no qualifying positive-language comments mentioning only one party. The blue/red split measures the relative number of positive-language comments, not verified party approval.
Positive and negative language by party mention
Counts are based on the overall wording of comments that mention only one party. Positive or negative words elsewhere in a comment may not describe that party; mixed and neutral categories are shown separately.

What Vibecheck measures
Emotion and intensity, changes in conversation volume, topics gaining attention, engagement patterns, and how those measures evolve. State assignment requires reliable location evidence; mentioning a state does not establish that the author lives there.
